Morning Dew
by ocu24 at 5/31/2008 4:59:38 PM

The morning dew was heavy in the air , the sky a dark blue as I began my morning walk the sun just starting to come up over the horizon. A hawk circling low just above the river edge caught my eye as it turned left sharply , scooped up a fish with ease and flew into the island of trees. I saw a nest where it slowly lower its body to deposit the catch and flew away effortless with grace for another search for its morning meal. I walked slowly savoring the silence listening to the water currents down the bank when a whippoorwill broke the morning with its sound. It was almost like a wakeup call for nature to start the day. Like a rooster does on the farm when I was younger. Happy Sigh!

The cool wind at my back my pace move more briskly as I crossed the footbridge, I hear the plop nto the water of some turtles that were lined up on the log laying across the creek the flowed into the river. Several Monarch Butterflies chasing each other along the top of the stream. A game of tag or maybe a interest of another to cause it to seem almost humorous as they flew hither to a place of rest. Some tadpoles in the shallows seem to just circling each other as almost not wanting to go into the deep of the pool which seemed home to them. A Dragonfly buzzed by my ear and the stopped in mid-flight its tender silvery wings glistened in the sunbeams just peeking over the hill.

Some deer exiting the forest across the way sauntering so gracefully, unaware of me standing on the path came down to drink all in a row almost like it was a morning ritual as a muskrat swam from just below their place in the theme of the day. The wind blows from the west causing ripples across the water almost like erasing the mirror images that I like to see, the reflections on the shore a double sight of the Beauty of Nature. The hawk has returned ,flying high in the upper wind currents I hear the shrill of its voice to let others know of its Happiness.

I follow along the river to come upon several squirrels digging in the ground, preserving its storage for the season change that I can see in some trees that have already turned yellow and some with reds. There are leaves already have fallen and with the breeze now several others are fluttering into the water. They are circling in the whirlpools unknown in the destination downstream. Nature has its was of rejuvenating itself I think as the nutrients are vital for renewal next spring.

I climbed the hill and saw the sun rising above the 2 rivers where they meet and was taken away by the Beauty of the Gold ,White and Blue of the Morning day! It just frees the mind of all that Life bring to Me, A renewal of the Spirit to seek out Serenity and Peace!

Its such a Wonderful Day although summer still it’s a preview of what’s to come, Autumn a season of Beauty and Grace. The revisit to the new season is almost upon those who live in the 4 season country of the Midwest! Life is Something to Be Cherished and Enjoyed
