| ThE GAME OF POLITICS~ FAIR? by labella07 at 6/19/2008 2:54:28 PM

Today,( as I was logging in), I ran across this posting that a good associate of mine wrote in regards to their feelings on whether Barack should win the 2008 election or not. Of course, their feelings on whether Barack should be elected--was NO.
Have to say, that this individuals response was very passionate, but yet, shockingly surprising.
My response:
"I have to agree with ....(wont disclose names), that I am little bit surprised at hearing this from you as well. I do not think that most individuals who are supporting Barack in the upcoming election are mainly selecting him because of his skin color. Do not get me wrong, there are a number of people of African-American descent who are, (unfortunately), politically unaware of the situation at hand. Those DO tend to be the ones who feel that they would want him in office because he is PART BLACK. But, if race was to be the case, then take into consideration the individuals, who are of Caucasian descent,(being many ethnicities), alongside the Asian, Hispanic-Americans as well who are in support of him.
For example, the first week that word got out the Barack Obama was running for President, when a few media people went out onto the streets to ask a vast array of individuals what were their thoughts on him wanting to run? Majority of their replies were mixed, but mainly stated as, quote: “I think Barack Obama represents America, because he is bi-racial.” Hmmm, so wouldn’t that notion of “voting for one because they are black, (really bi-racial regardless of the 2% blood drop rule), tie into ALL parties at this roundtable? And the main individuals who made that statement, were WHITE! Honestly, we have to keep in mind that the responses to this race topic is DEFINITELY not one-sided; it’s multi.
Secondly, in regards to Barack displaying a “serious lack of character through this primary season which he was able to mask through his oratory skills”-liner…hmmm, ok, name a president within our nations history who has not shown any lack of character to some degree or another? Seriously, by us both being Political Science majors, we both know that politics is a tricky, but very corruptive GAME and in order to stay in it, you have to be able to win it to a certain degree. But, I have not noticed a sign yet of him displaying a lack of character. Again, if we want to examine who has shown lack of character, (in this case with Obama, Clinton, and McCain), we might as well examine the childish, inexcusability that all three of them had displayed to some degree. I have to admit, to see both Obama and Clinton batting back and forth like two kids playing tag, is a bit humorous- because this campaign should be taken more seriously regardless of ones, age, or so called “inexperience” in regards to them taking the presidential position.
How can we KNOW that what Barack tells our nation is really him just “spewing platitudes of hope and change” when it is not even that close to the election just yet to say that its all just empty words? Whose to say that MCCAIN, is spewing nothing but platitudes-empty word usage- just to win more people over? And again tell me a president within our nations history that has not done that?
We can only assume, (for now at least), that Barack’s intention is to assure our nation that if he gets elected, (just like McCain),that he will do whatever he can to get our nation out of the sh** hole that were already in.
Thirdly, when you stated, “what he wants is to surrender a war that this nation CAN win”,---really, how so?? I would really like to know this, honestly. How long have we been over there “fighting” this so-called war based on what Bush CHOOSES to tell the U.S. citizenry, simply because he wants to finish what his father, George Bush Sr., started back in the early 1990s from when he held office?
Correspondingly, even with regards to the financial aspect of our economy, it, too, has been messy since…heck forever. If China is now,(and has been), BUYING the U.S. debt, alongside the fact that the American dollar is continuing to depreciate… does it really look like we, (the citizenry), would have much of any MAJOR gain after the 2008 election is up?? I am pretty sure that we should have some substantial growth coming in---but, again, it is a case of how much and will it help to lift our economy out of the financial debt that we are in???
Lastly, in regards to your statement on Barack wanting to, “negotiate with terrorist cells and rogue nations,” Yes, I have to agree with you on that one. Personally, I am a bit unsure on whether he should do that or not as well. I guess that would just have to be something that needs to be further examined.
All in all, I totally feel you have made some very strong-outspoken points. I just had to give feedback. I wish you luck in whatever you are doing."
To any and everyone>>As always, feel free to leave feedback here, or drop me a line in my message box if it is more suitable for you.I know that some of you who has always done that and prefer it. So what ever suits you, have a ball~
