If you are only looking for a friend, don't imply in your profile that you are looking for a side by side lover who is a friend and partner or say that you are looking for a spouse. There is a difference.
Actions do speak louder than words and there are some of us here who do write what we mean and our words will be supported by our actions. If your actions cannot support your words and you are unwilling to work with someone to overcome any issues that might arise, please be honest and do not say you are looking for something you really do not want.
Compromise is such a good word. I wonder why more people do not understand what it means?
