missing blog whats up with that
by chinatown_girl at 8/4/2008 12:15:54 AM

i had a youtube in my blog before last, it showed our soldiers in iraq jeering at lil kids cause they were begging and saying some nasty things. however, it was a real video, made by these soldiers and showing something that is really going on there. and people need to see this, especially those who go on and on about veterans. as for me, u do not get my respect simply because u were a veteran; but if u did the right thing while u were there. no way do i feel anyone who raped, tortured or abused people is any kind of a hero, and i don't owe them anything but a fair trial for war crimes.

i did think by posting it here then nobody could cry to have it taken down since this is a blog after all, anybody reading it should expect to see or hear what i'm thinking about.

anyway, today i did some more petitioning for the green candidate. it was tough cause the mccain types assumed i was in obama's camp. then this black guy argued with me for about 30 minutes trying to tell me that i owed the democrats my vote; and that the democrats being timid about the war "is a strategy".

u know, for all this talk about how people love democracy, the average person is pretty ignorant about politics. like, a lot think that signing a petition so someone can run is the same as voting for them. and then there are those who know what it means, but feel justified in shutting people out of a race, hoping that would give their candidate a better chance.

swam a little today. two friends got stung by jellyfish. maybe i didnt get stung cause i've eaten them before, lol.

About the green party - we have them to thank for Bush being in office the past 8 years. Ralph Nader is the 4 year locust. I agree with a lot of things he says, I love how he advocates for consumer protections and gets other politicians to get involved. Thing is, his policies, and his party are too close to the Democrats, and they are the ones it will most likely appeal to. This has the effect of shaving off votes from the democratic candidate. A few hundred thousand votes would have made the difference, with Al Gore, with John Kerry.

bush is still in office #1 cause democrats run moderate campaigns to suck up to the centerists and #2 cause bush stole the election and they were too cowardly to fight for it and so they whined that nader did it. the greens r not the only 3rd party in the usa; loads of people got votes from people who prefered them to the republicrats. if i don't vote green i wont vote at all so theres no way i had a vote that was owed to the democrats. let them promise an immediate end to the war and i will vote for a democrat.
