making changes
by wileyguy at 9/8/2008 11:34:21 AM

i think it's time.i've run my own business for a few years and honestly......it has run me!!! im tired of being preoccupied with it and i want my life back.
i've thought about it for a while.pros and cons.i put out a few feelers and apparantly it wont be too hard.i have a couple interviews this week.if all goes well,i'll be back working for someone which i swore id never do again.having been on both sides of the fence,i think id rather be a little indian rather than the big chief.
the 1 big benefit i thought i would have is time.i thought it would be nice to do as you wish.what i found was i was doing what i had to and wished i didnt have to.while i've enjoyed my freedom and flexibility,i also look forward to 'leaving work behind'.
i dont want to sound sappy, but i haven't had a real boss in over 10 years.i hope im up for it.im not a typical 'yes' guy so my mouth may get me in trouble.
if im not around much,i havent disappeared.you'll all be in my thoughts.

I wish you well friend. It's a tough world out there whether you are the company boss or the bosses company.

Good luck Wiley..I know how you feel. After being a carpenter foreman and supervisor for the past 20 years not only did I need a break from being the "boss",but also a change of the construction industry.I got tired of being the last one to leave the job trailor every nite, going to the meetings, yelled at when things went wrong, forgotten when things went right.Plus dealing with incompitent people. Now I go to work, and ask my shop leader,"what do ya want me to do?"..

Best Wishes Wiley...Sometimes a little change is not so bad. I too would rather be an Indian...not as much hassle. Let the big guns get the heat and headaches! Don't disappear for to long...I will miss seeing you..."Z"

Wiley....I relate so well. In the 90's I had my own business. I did good and it was very sucessful. At that time I had the energy to keep up until I decided like you that I no longer wanted the ties and commitments. So even though the change was a bit of a struggle in the end it was well worth it. I wont even take a leading position anymore just to save myself the stress and heartache. Good Luck my friend, you may be making a wise choice.
