| Fake it 'till you Make it

I talked to a wise woman the other day in the sauna and this was the advice she gave me: Fake it 'till you make it. Specifically, she said it would be hard at first to move on from a bad relationship and to feel "right" in a new one, but that you have to do it and that, eventually, it will feel right again. I believe that is true. And, I believe I just have to believe and keep on keepin' on.
So, off I go to school, to work, to school, to the gym, to work, to bed and another day starts again. I'll never let hope die even if my heart really does feel like it truly is breaking in half.
It doesn't help, by the way, that I just found out that a friend of mine who I've been depending on the past 2 weeks to help me in my 12 steps towards getting over my ex is still sleeping with *his* ex girlfriend. I don't blame him - hell, I'm tempted to still sleep with my ex too. I had no complaints in that department. In fact, I often told him if he'd just keep his mouth shut, we'd get along way better. But, no, 'friends with benefits' is not a good way to go. Like tearing off that band aid WAY to slow. You just have to do it and stand there and take the pain for a while. It is the only way. And if you aren't ready to do that, you aren't ready for a new relationship.
That's how I see it at least.
