| Finding a serious relationship by duke8162 at 3/9/2009 8:17:54 PM

Is there true love for a man in his late 40's? I have learned alot about love and what it takes to make a relationship work. The problem is that it came to late. The love of my life has been gone for 9 years. She moved out on valentines day of 2000. I was consumed by my job and she thought I had no room in my heart for her or the children. We had changed and grown apart to the point where we didn't know each other. Since that valentines day in 2000 there have been other relationships, some good and some bad. I have shared my thoughts on making a relationship last with only 1 other person. A wonderful lady I chat with online, but have never met. I compare a relationship to a tree that must bend and sway in the wind. It must give and take, it must change with the seasons. It can never be stiff and not bend, or it will snap and break. It is so easy to fall into a routine and do your own thing and only share a bed, and the occassional sex, but after awhile you just go thru the motions and the passion and love is gone. I wish I would of done some of the little things that I thought were stupid back then, but would of made her so happy. Maybe someday in the future I will have a chance practice my theory on how to make love last forever. Now all I need to do is find a woman looking for serious passionate loving relationship.
