| friends with benefits

I am a 48 year old guy. The last 2 women I dated only wanted to be what they called friends with benefits. I thought it was just the guys that wanted that kind of relationship. I was hurt because I cared for these women alot and thought we were in a steady type of relationship. It wasn't like they were in their 20's, 1 was 50 and the other was late 40's. Is this the new type of dating? Don't get the wrong idea I love sex, but there is more . I wonder if I will ever find a life long woman to be by my side that shares my thoughts on life.
