Easy to Love Hard to Hold

Some people are blinded by their own eyes
And never release their passionate side
I feel a great sadness for them
I know I speak too honestly
But my honesty is why
You love me
I am so easy to love
O so hard to hold
It takes someone strong
Takes someone bold
My honesty is why
I’m so hard to use
You may come to me for that
And to abuse
Ah but to use me
You got to know me
And to know me
There’s no other way
To know me is to love me
Each and everyday
When someone leaves my side
They know what love is
And what it does

Like so many others I am unique
Some call me special
Some call me freak
All anyone has to do to see
Is open that heart
That which they hold so dear
Release your heart
Have no fear
Always bet more than you are willing to lose
I know this better than most of you
You will get it back
Better than it was
More complete stronger
More passionate
I prove this everyday
And in so many ways
you can feel it in my song
As it plays
Those tough times in my life
I had to go through
They made me who I am
And that’s true
I had to go through it
To find myself
I never keep my heart upon a shelf
I simply gamble with that one thing
Which I never want to lose
My heart myself my soul
I lay myself down
Ante up
