My Days of Feb. & March.
by hardthunder at 3/22/2009 5:39:44 PM

This was written originally for one of my local bike sites, TheWildRide.net. So if you see references that don;t make sense, that is probably why. Just thought the story of my travels was worth putting on my other sites. Feedback always wanted.
--------------------------
All travels involved state AMTA American Massage Therapy Association conferences. I help teach a new approach for therapists to use on their clients and also take care of them with my treatments. They have all missed me when I took my 2 year hiatus from the company and did courier work in the bi-state area. So, all in all, the trips were a load of fun, friendship and pleasure in helping others. (Oh yea, since Feb. 1, I have added about 11 new Harley shirts to my collection of over 1,000 since 1983). Hope you enjoy the story. Send me a note to let me know you read this. It took a spell for me to compose. Will write more if i know it gets read. Peace

Have been all across the country since Feb. 1. Went to Tucson & Phoenix, AZ by way of OKC, (went thru the OKC Memorial at night with my boss. Her first time. Can't recall the number for me!) Roswell, (Spent a few hours photographing all the Aliens and even visiting the one at Champion H-D), Almogordo/Las Cruces and the White Sands National Monument (stopped at the first Pistachio Farm in the country. Great stuff there!). Had a great trip. Went up the Bee-Line thru the Tonto & Apache Reservations into the White Mountains, across to ShowLow, AZ. Then into the volconao desert of New Mexico, thru Pie Town, on the Continental Divide. Across thru Magdalena (at a high rate of speed! Look for more on this later. hehe) and Socorro. Up North to Albuquerque, across to Tucumcari. Spent part of the day photographing the new murals all over the town. Awesome time if one gets a chance. Then it was the basic run to the Cadillac Ranch outside of Amarillo and into Tulsa and back home.. 9 days, 3200 miles, 1 pissed of NM State Trooper. (Told me it was a $175 fine for 28 over, yet my attorneys from PrePaid legal got the fine dismissed and I only had to mail in a $55 check for court costs. Love my PrePaid Legal Insurance -Magdelana-) Only had a bad day of rain from Tulsa home.

Then I went up to Wakesha (wa-ka-sha) outside of Milwaukee, WI and got caught in a nasty freezing cold blizzard. Got out of that and headed to K.C. MO.

Took a few days off and then headed to Lexington, KY. Met a bunch of friends from BikerOrNot at the Man O' War H-D shop. Great friends are met in all of my travels. Just don't seem to get much interest in this group as I do in BikerOrNot and MySpace. (Been to a couple of Meet n Greets on here and only a couple talk with me or are sociable. Guess my disability or something keeps all at bay. Thanks Joyce and Terri).

After Lexington, I headed to Boston and got to see friends in Indy, In, Columbus, OH, Barnesville, OH. A long time friend near Boston from my old BOA bike site rode up to visit.. Thanks Doc. After the conference I got to see my family in CT, been 5 years since last visit. Then connected with Val and her hubby Gordie, after 23 years! All the kids were born after 89, when they got married and I last saw them when they started dating in '86. Known Val over 35 years. That was my highlight of the trip.

Got back from CT in 2 days and was still able to go riding Thunder for a couple hours the same evening.

Am heading to the Ozarks this weekend (3/26-27) to take care of the MO Massage therapists and then will head to Upstate New York the first weekend of April.. More stops in IN and OH are planned along the way. Will be driving back on my birthday, the 6th, and hope to get on Thunder that evening also.

Then will come the packing and visiting of friends in the bi-state area as I get ready for the move to the Fort Worth area of Texas. A new job and place are waiting for me. Been in the St. Louis area for 10 years. Ready for new territory to explore. As much as I will miss the cross country driving, I think there will be plenty of room to explore in Texas.

So, that's the 2 month speil in a nutshell. Of course there are hundreds of photos to go with all the trips.. Thousands of Massage therapists have been happily taken care of and a lot of friends have been reconnected with and seen.

Peace Out & Safe Riding Everyone!
