WE have a right to a true history of ourselves, a history that fully acknowledges any harm done to us.
Because if we were physically, emotionally, or sexually abused, and deny the harm done to us, we discount ourselves.
We continue a childhood message that says we aren't worth much.
What a mistake.
We are each priceless beyond words!
That's why we need to look at our past and try to tell our story, honestly, including the hurt, the sadness, the fear, the loneliness and the rage.
If we cant remember very much, we can listen to other people's stories.
When we identify with there pain ,we can know that the feelings we are experiencing are true.
We can trust our heart.
As we tell the truth, our secrets, we become free.
We say "NO, it was not okey.
Yes it was a big deal.
Yes I'm sad and rageful too.
Most of all, I'm relieved to finally be telling a true history of my life."
