| New to this whole thing..

So.. I'm back in the game, after a long hiatus from the dating scene. A neighbor of mine recommended this site as he had just been successful meeting someone on here. And it's funny, I bring up the word "game" and it's a word that was thrown around in conversation today. Is dating just a game to some people? Take for instance, the people who come onto these online sites, in search of the "perfect date." They phrase their 500 words or less square with things like: "I'm not into games" or "players not welcome." But, isn't the whole dating scene a game? You see all these commercials for EHarmony and Match.com, about people being winners-in-love. So, for those of us who still mill around in the single section of the ball-park, what then can be said for us? All I know is I look at this time in my life as an adventure and I embrace it with open arms. I'm stepping up to the plate and hoping that the dating Gods look down on me kindly, throwing me that straight on pitch (the knuckler, not the curveball) so that I can slam it as far as the wind will carry it (and if the game is in new Yankee stadium, that's pretty far in right field!). I'm back in the game, with both feet... and the water is just fine.
