Life in the fast lane....

Wow! What a week this has been. My niece will be 3 May 18th. When she was 11 months old she had complete kidney failure and both were removed. We almost lost her and thanks to the Medical Team at Primary Children's Hospital, one specialist had seen this before and was able to save her life. Since all this happened she has been on dialysis 4 times a week and has been a trooper through several surgeries for catheders and removing scar tissue. This last Tuesday, May 12th, Amelia got a new kidney from a Good Sumaritan donor who came from Oregon. Her name is Carol and in the beginning she wanted to remain anonomious until she found out that her kidney would be going to a 3 year old girl. She is doing really well and will be released to go home to Oregon tomorrow the 16th. Amelia is also doing well. She was able to get out of ICU 1 day early and she has been up and around and wants to play. There is still a long road left for this little girl, but this is a beginning we were thinking would never come. I have to say thank you to not only Carol but to all donors out there for giving others a gift of life.

Aside from a kidney transplant, I was laid off. Kind of a bummer. It has been cool though to be home with my son, but I am ready to go back to work. I do have some interviews and hopefully one will be an offer.

Last thing, I got a new cell phone. The Samsung Gleam. Its been a pretty cool little phone so far. It was easy to set up and program....that's all for now!
