| just how kind are poeple really? (1 of 2) by train_wreck at 5/25/2009 8:42:10 PM
so it`s 4:20... an I`m sitting here thinking.... A "girl" friend came by jus to drop in, saw I was on another site similar to this and we were chatting on the forums being dangerous ground, and having a chuckle...
You go into these threads and look for something that piques your interest, and even the most outlandish posts generally being benign in nature.
as you read a post you must realise that the posters on the Internet range every person imaginable.
From children to people in a triple digit age range, every type, in every corner of the world who has something to say is out there.
You find yourself reading the post and find yourself looking a little past it to find the real meaning the author intended, not to say that the author did not know exactly what they "intended" to say it`s just that there is a pretty broad range of reasoning's for an oddly (to be nice) worded post to be misconstrued.
From it being written by someone very young or, of different political background, language barriers, gender, personality types, emotional states, God knows what!
And because they, MAY, have some trouble articulating there message, you just might be inclined to think that for any one of those reasons (or any other) you would not have any authority or right to even make an assumption as to who someone is or, to label someone as a lesser.
One might find themselves being a mature, respectful and responsible person.
and might make an effort based on the thought that; you want to reply in the same manner you would wish to be responded to, should it be you posting.
If it were something you were interested in enough to respond to maybe respond... constructively?
We`re here posting in blogs and forums, `cause we have something to say, we want to be heard.
This is an tremendous opportunity for learning and personal growth yet, read some of the replies...
There are a few things going on here. People are typing in their thoughts in their own words, usually focused on the task, baring their thoughts, exposing themselves more than they might ever in public and feeling sucure in thinking
"I`ll never meet these people"
"I don`t care what they think"
there's some sense of anonymity or,
the funny one, "I might learn something?"
You go read some of these posts, read something that has a delicate issue like, relationships or, dating and read some of the replies!!!
I am slowly resigning to the thought that, if you truly want to see the sheer brutality and insensitive thought in relation to lack of heart, all you gotta do is read some of the replies to some peoples posts!
OK, some lady is unable to cope, devastated that her man of 17 er whatever years left her for a chick 20 years younger and only left her the bills or,
Some poor schlep of a dude is in a new town and doesn't know anyone and is so alone he`s sitting there with a bottle of booze in one hand and a gun in the other, wondering what one to put in his mouth first,....
It`s like fresh blood in a tank of hungry sharks!!!, the high majority of the posts I`ve read where someone is "reaching out" are replied to by.... well, I don`t even know what to call them/you.
You can clearly see what side of the fence these "people" (term used loosely) sit on. Some might be surprised to find that a post in question form might imply that to respond, you must address the quarry in an answer form! no, really!!!
Or my favorite lame response, the one`s who can`t even come up with something originally mean, and just attack one`s grammer and syntax, sentence structure and punctuation! "and" if given a quick review of their rely and profile show no sign of academic excellence themselves!!!
I am HIGHLY doubting that anyone posts to be belittled, misunderstood, attacked, berated. you know?, just generally have their personality assassinated yet it amazes me just how cruel people in general really are.
