I just finished watching the movie "Singles." It was a pretty good movie, but probably not very realistic (unless my life is a LOT different from the average person's). Everyone ended up with someone by the end of the movie. Although I think that usually happens in real life, it's not usually as easy as it's depicted.
There was one comment in the movie which said something like, "Everyone wants love, but those who can't find love will settle for sex. If they can't get sex, they'll settle for companionship. Many will eventually settle for a friend."
Personally, I'd place friendship above companionship, companionship above sex, and love above friendship. Although right now I don't have anything great working in any of those fields (lol), I do have a few friend/acquaintances that I enjoy spending time with.
I went to a church picnic today and had a great time. We played volleyball and horseshoes and had a LOT of great food! Ever since I started going to this new church, I've eaten better than I have since my mom died (LOL). They're a great bunch of people and I really enjoy spending time with them all (hmmmmm... think I might've mentioned that before).
I thought I might've messed up yesterday because one of the girls from our Sunday School class was having trouble with her car and I offered to give her a ride to the picnic. I think she thought I was asking her out for a date and she got kind of nervous and flushed (lol). She's a cute girl, but she's a lot younger than me (by 17 years) and I didn't intend the offer in that way at all. Still, it was kind of a blow to my ego to see how much she did NOT want me to take her to the picnic (lol).
Well, I guess that's about all I have to say right now...
