| Health and wellness--Ups and Downs--That's Life

Brief message to one and all--I had a very very close call recently--was on a Friday June 3rd, 2009 and I was
really ignorant of my danger that I faced. Seems I almost died--that is at least what I'm told as I was pale and close to fainting/collapsing. I found out at
a local hospital that I had two blood clots--one on top of each of my lungs--effectively smothering me and I was literally too stupid to realize what was happening to me. I'm just glad that I was with my friend/roommate who had the sense to have someone call 911 for me and I was taken to a local hospital and immediately treated for my problems with appropriate steps taken to narrow down what was the problem which was confirmed after I had a CatScan that showed two large blood clots blocking my airways of both lungs. Well long story can be summarized with the following addenum--I had to be treated immediately with Heparin--a blood thinner and it did what needed to be
done--had other problems too and once released at end
of a week I was only out one day--went to my VA Hospital and ended up getting readmitted all over again and yep am now on Coumadin-a blood thinner in pill form. More Adventures ahead too as I have some other problems but first I must get myself used to this new regimen and also get used to lots and lots of new restrictions put on me re diet and other stuff---oh well LIfe goes on and one has to learn and relearn how to stay alive so I will just bite the bullet and play some new games to keep myself ALIVE and KICKING. Well Cheers to one and all and yes I did make some rather unusual commitments while in the two hospitals I was in but that's normal and par for the course--now I have to live up to those commitments and that is the really hard part--following through.....so wish me luck and yeah I am still looking but I am also in a sort of a holding action too as I am getting closer to my 1st EX but then that is normal after a rather extreme LIfe threatening experience like I had.
