| It's funny....

This was written awhile back and was published on JohnStaton.com and a few other blogs/websites, but kept private. I'm posting it here, publicly, for the first time:
Funny how things turn out.
Funny how people will work so hard to make you believe they're something they're not, or they'll try to make themselves out to be everything THEY think you're looking for, and, in reality are totally different.
They'll lie, cheat, and practically steal from you with no regard or respect for you. They tend to live in the "now" and not worry about the consequences of their actions.
They never worry about hurting those they love - including significant others, children, and or family.
They live their own little, pitiful, selfish lives and always make excuses for the bad things that happen in life. They never take responsibility for their own actions or the results of their inaction.
To them this IS life. There is no other way, things will never change because they don't want to change.
Satisfaction will never be attained as they'll never know true happiness or appreciation with the things they have, or the people that love them -- as they'll always want more but won't have a clue as to how to get it, or get back what they've lost.
They'll sit alone ,and angry - wondering about what could've been; and telling themselves whatever it takes to get them through their day.
Until they change, they're truly doomed to repeat the same same cycle over and over.
Sad, but very true.
These are the types of people I no longer choose to associate myself with.
