How do you deal with your kids?

How do you make sure that your kids are not too affected by your divorce or separation?
Any advise?

rob9333	6/27/2009 6:40:22 PM be up front with them. do not tell them more than they need to know for their age. assure them that it is not their fault, seek support groups and do not feel ashamed. you will benefit from it as will the children. do not talk down about your ex to the children, you will regret it later.

nhbiker1954	7/2/2009 3:12:13 AM Usually seperation is the result of strained relationships. So your children already know there is an issue. Be honest with them and like Rob said. Be sure to let them know it is not thier fault. It is much more common now and odds are they have friends with similar surcumstances. Try to remain positive and I can tell you from experience that life gets BETTER. And for your self, USE your friend base for support and feedback. You are approaching it well by being open about it.
