Dream of Angels

I often dream of Angels. Not the creatures of Christian Faith but those of an older line. Creatures of eternal beauty that burn a mortal heart without thought. Creatures of passion so raw and pure the ideals of good and evil become vapor, blown away by their wings.
In my dreams, so close to nightmares, I look to one for love. I would dream of winning her heart. In gaining her attentions I would be lifted with raven wings. In her embrace all within a moment my life’s struggles and pains would be burned away by her everlasting passion. I failed to care of the future and wished to live the rest of my days in that moment.

Never does it end like this. Always I am placed back to the earth as she rejoins the others above. I am forgotten again for a time. An earthbound dreamer cursed to watch my Angel dance as my heart burns for her return.
