Been suffering from a broken ankle since May 27th. Had surgery in June and finally got my hot pink cast off yesterday. Ankle sucks! Had pins and plate put in and it feels so gross!!!!! They even stapled my skin following surgery. Made me feel really weird to see staples in my skin....shudder.....
Thank god for some very dear friends. They have shopped for me, walked my dog 4 times a day, driven me to doctors' appointments and held my hand through the worst of it.
I've had time to reflect and do some sorting out in my life. Discovered that I'm really happy in my own skin. I like who I am and am secure in the knowledge that even if I can't find someone special, I'll have a contented and happy life full of laughter and good friends.
