| Penny Face Up

Reiki has taught me that when you give positive energy, you receive it back in even greater quantity.
I guess that is why I never noticed that if you go out of your way looking at all the positive things you can do, they just seem to materialize out of no where. I've never had such occasion to want to send positive thoughts as this week. I won't explain why or who, but they surfaced everywhere. It really put my life in perspective with the moment.
So as I sat outside court for a custody hearing today, I walked in the bathroom. As I prepared to leave, I saw two pennies on the floor. One was face up. The other was face down. Recalling the saying that goes something like this: "Penny face up pick it up and get good luck, penny face, down, bad luck and leave it on the ground."
Needing all the positives I could muster at the time,(and maybe being a little superstitious as well), I picked up the penny that was face up. But in hopes of governmental appeasement, I then turned the penny face down over... hoping it would give some other soul in the courthouse good luck upon seeing it after I departed. As for the penny I picked up. Well I left that face up on the sink. After all. I did pick it up right, nothing said I had to keep it?
In the end, I just hope those two pennies and the positive thoughts I left behind helped others out in need today, as much as it did me.
