Are Two Kids Better Than One?
by randall1117 at 8/9/2009 8:25:15 AM

Well, I thought I'd start my blog out with a welcome... I have several blogs on the internet, and this seem like a decant place to start another.
I'm a single dad with two wonderful daughters both which choose to live with me.
Well, here we go...
Since mid June of 09, My oldest daughter has decided to move in with me and my youngest daughter.
During the first three weeks of her moving in, we had time to do a few things alone since my youngest daughter was visiting with her mother for the summer break. Yes, they have different mothers... So, this gave us time to bond and catch up with each other. We had a great time doing so. We talked about our past few years and everything in between.

My oldest daughter is 21, she's only been able mimic the actions that she's learned from watching her mother and step father when it comes to managing money, paying bills and dealing with loans. Up to this point in her life, she has had to rely on friends and acquaintances for help and guidance. I'm glad to have the opportunity at this time in her life to make a difference.

My youngest daughter was thrilled to find out that her older sister would be living with us for a while. My youngest daughter has since come home and joined the new dynamic family. We all had to give a little room to make everything work and we were also reluctant to clean out a bunch of closets and make a nice donation to the local consignment store.
The girls seem to be getting along just fine. They have been able to connect like they've never done before. They are sharing information with each other, solving their little drama situations and working through the little challenges that young girls have for their age group.

As for having one child in the home versus two? I would say that having two children in the home is much better than having one. Furthermore, they are both learning from one another and for the first time in a long time, I've been able to take a break from the kitchen and laundry room which is only because they insist on taking over these areas.
I'm sure glad I have two girls, I'm not sure what two boys would insist on doing for me.
