My buddy Joel, a troubled soul who really did put everybody else first in his life.

I added this Brad Paisley song to my profile to remind myself of my friend Joel.They played it at the funeral along with a slide show from his childhood till now.I can honestly say that it was just one of the saddest days of my entire life.The sense of loss came from everybody, family ,and friends.It was one of those times in your life that will always be a vivid memory.Thinking of Joel,and his troubles,and the terrible outcome helps me to be strong and realize just how short life can be.It also makes my own troubles just kinda pale in comparison.It is a very troubling and humbling thing dealing with your own mortality.I have not always made the right choices in life,but I have done the best that I can.
I feel like Joel had a lot more to offer,and it truly is a shame that he is gone.I and a lot of people that I have known over the years are all better people just for knowing him.He was just one of those few people in the world that could look past the superficial and like anybody for who they are.I would sure like to think that he is up there somewhere where there is no sadness,and only love and happiness.i will always have hope for the future,and living my life in the best manner that I can is the only real way to honor my friend.I will miss him for a long time to come.
