Thoughts about relationships:
It's easy to know when you feel good about being with someone although the reasons for that good feeling may not be so evident. Sometimes, it's not easy to put into words the reasons you love or care for someone. That the connection is there - is all that matters... and the desire to nuture it. It's pretty hard to design a recipe in one paragraph for our needs and wants or to describe our ideal person - I won't even attempt to do that - it would only sound trite. I'm not so sure we always know exactly what type of person would be the best for us - and that seems to vary with the seasons of our life. I'll leave that up to God and chance. I do know it's important to keep an open mind when meeting someone.
Occasionally, not very often, a person comes into our life who makes us feel good not only about being with them, but good about being with our self. They raise the bar on enjoyment and enlightenment. What I try to remember is to do everything I can to cultivate that relationship and hold onto it - because it is very special!
I have had the feeling before - there comes that one person who, when we talk, eye contact goes very deep - our own inwardness turns into a desire to move to their invwardness. Conversations turn into images, the connection is strong and magnetic, trusting and fun and pauses leave room to wonder and think, (remember that feeling of being able to think with someone), more intently than is normal. We think about them and their happiness as much or more than our own. They make us smile... even when we are not with them. We know we want them in our life today AND tomorrow - and we wish they were there yesterday, because we know our life could have been different and better. But most of all, we know that being there for each other... is everything we ever wanted.
In the words of John and Paul, (no not the Apostles - The Beatles): "All You Need Is Love!" Well actually, the Apostles did profess that concept first!
If what I've written strikes a meaningful chord for you, I'd like to know that it did, let me know if you would - just a little Hello. Who knows, maybe we'll find a meaningful friendship and you'll find someone who can change that smoke alarm battery as well as fix several other broken things for you.
I wish that you find that which is good for you!
Thanks for stopping by!
