Why,Why,Why
by steelbluezz at 8/31/2009 6:36:28 AM

Seriously, I really do hate the idea of dating. Or let's put it this way, I hate the modern western-society courtship ritual. From a sociological standpoint, I think it is unnecessarily complicated, and too often misleading and very difficult for someone 50 plus.
If were here on a dating site, why (that's my first why) do we Not fill out profiles, or why if we do, do we put the same old "I love walking on the beach, sipping wine, by the fireplace and being with my family". Why do we post pictures were the person is standing 20 yards away. Why do we put pictures of our pets or locations we have visited (without actually being in the picture)? And last but not least, when you do make contact and the person says "why not call me" and leaves a number. You call, they don't answer, and you never have contact with them again!!!

why why why do you not have a picture. But, I agree with you about the phone calls. If you click on the picture ...it become clearer. The pets one I cannot answer but the locations we have visited I can. I posted two pictures of the Wildwood beach on 8/22/09 during hurricane bill. It was a nice picture and I enjoyed witnessing it.

I agree with Irish. WHY is there no pic on your profile. That is one of the most frustrating things for a person to see....nothing. Fortunately for me, I don't have to deal with it anymore as I know what my fiance looks like.

I agree, i didnt have a picture on when i first got on DH but it was nice placing the picture or pictures with the profile of others. Sometimes you can tell a lot about the personality of a person just by pictures and profile. ctprinces, you are right you are the lucky one.

Why do we have to be so damn curious?*smile* People will always react differently then we expect (or want)them to be.We expect and want a way that is easier for us to understand..it's called human nature that it happens..or you can call it "what makes the world go round". But when we stop looking at even the things that cause us to question..we run the risk of losing out on the one we are looking for. Thanks for sharing your curiosity questions with us steelbluezz!

I don't have a picture for two reasons. I'm well known in The industry I'm. I prefer some privacy because of that. Secondly, there are so many who are picture collectors and or make a snap judgement just on pictures. If I sound interesting, then ask for pictures, I'll gladly send them.

I perfer to date to get to know the guy better. How have to spend time together. you have some valid points but one picture is worth a 1000.00 words. some times you can judge that the person is for you or not. I myself do not like a mustach or a beard. I like a good shaved face. I am looking for a male 55 to 67 to spend the rest of my life. I am not looking for a one night stand. I am not looking for a hotel. I am a widow and really enjoyed married life. I want a ranch style house and get rid of my expanded ranch adventually when I find Mr. Right.I want some one who lives close to me. My house is in Old Bridge, N.J. cam1945

As I mentioned before, I agree a picture makes a difference. With me, all you have to do is ask!
