Best Friends For Life

On a long ride, all the way to the end,
I went a long way just to see my best friend;
We sat a long time and talked about life,
Rights - Wrongs - Kids - Strife;

We talked about all of the highs and the lows,
And where life stops, no one knows;
We talked about all of the good and the bad,
And all of life’s troubles that we have had;

We talked on for hours, clear into the night,
About life’s decisions, some wrong and some right;
We talked of our kids and how they would play,
And never had worries throughout the whole day;

We talked about life and all of it’s cold
And where we would be when we’d grow old;
We talked about sports and winning the game,
If life in the end, would bring fortune or fame;

We sat there for hours, clear into the night,
Discussing some wrongs and also some rights;
We talked about friends, being best friends for life;
And when we were done, I said good night to my wife

STILL can't believe I wrote this for her but I like the poem anyway!

It is a good poem...maybe she'll remember it too! Thanks for the kind words on my blog...I am not depressed, but since you a write too, you understand that you can pour out your emotions in words and get on with life! SW

Wow, I can feel the wrenching pain of the days gone by and the inner peace in an odd sort of way of the heartfelt lasting best friendship for life.
