Worth the Wait
It all started when I went on my first date only for Three Days straight with a girl named Grace
Then on my second date I went out with Alice N. Chains, she left me out in the rain causing me great pain
They weren't worth the wait
both held me down like dead weight
There is no hope running up and down this slope
Or chasing tails when I know I won't prevail
It's a real shame when all they do is play silly games
Laying in the hall I noticed I drank too much alcohol
Because I'm sick of it all as I Rise Against the wall
Then on my right side there was a girl with a frown
Is she new in town but she just lives Three Doors Down
She had a beautiful face with a unique taste
She walks slowly toward me with a nicely curved waist
But I'd better make haste or this chance will slip away
Then she asked me on a date, could this be a brand new slate?
Is she worth the wait?
Is she real or a fake?
I keep running in this maze thinking its a never-ending race
Time to face my fears instead of dwelling on those painful years
Lets just burn the page and enter a whole new age
It was after dark as we walked down Linkin Park
I skid and fell into a pond called "Lake Rancid"
I think I hurt my arm
The pain was like a sounding alarm
Then she comfort me with her affectionate charm
She's worth the wait
She was there when I finally awake
She baked me a cake then put it on my plate
Its not about material goods or Breaking Benjamins
She cares what's on the inside not focusing on the outside
This chick knows how to rock, unbelievable I had a writers block
I wrote so many poems while I was sitting at home
She stands out from the rest, she is truly the best
Let this be worth the wait when I ask her out on another date.
