Last stretch is done
by lily4you at 9/10/2009 6:09:31 PM

I've been moving into an apt and its been a long haul.
Had things in storage, from several yrs ago I've been going through also.
Sorting out what do I need, what can I reasonably keep till I move to a bigger place, what should I let go of thats sentimental family stuff.
What should I sell. Thankgoodness I have sold alot of large items.
And last what can I not live without just because I like it!
Dang so many decisions!
Emotionally and physically draining!
I'll be doing this for probably the next year, but I do like getting rid of more things and unloading bad memories too.

Been taking a class at the same time too.
It will be good when I can relax from that soon.

Here's to a great Fall and hopefully
a cozy winter.....

Been there too! It's hard to let go of things that mean something to you. I kept things that had good memories, gave the abuse center and mission center truck loads of stuff. I still have way too much. Like you, I'm going to attack it this winter. I still have boxes and plastic tubs filled with who knows what. HANG in there and good luck! Hey, Jenny knows how to do it, so bet she'll help both of us!

Hey, my whole idea on this topic, is that I will "leave" the house & contents to let the kids go thru. I cleaned out my folks house, my mother in laws house, now it is only fair that they should have the same "good" experience, don't you think. I totally agree, you turn off the light, and those boxes will duplicate one or two times. My closet gets fuller & fuller, and I swear I am not putting anything into it. Good luck on unpacking, it is such a thankless job. lol

So that's why I had to have another barn built after packing two to the rafters! They breed! Yep, let the kids go thru it. Should just build one huge fie and anything that hasn't been unpacked in a year, burn! My luck, I'll need it the next day and hunt it.

Be very careful what you get rid of tho, cuz as soon as you throw it out,you will be looking for it.

Be prepared for that time when you think you have said good riddens to stuff, then you open a box and there it is again! I believe this is called a "Haunting"!

Sure enough it happened!!!! I kept the separated slipper from its mate for about a year or more. Finally I said... "sorry dear, guess he's gone forever"...I took vacuum extentions out of a box... and there he was. Oh man! I knew it!!! NOw I'm irritated I can't use them but had to feel bad for its mate too! Shit now they're both sad...ha. I know, don't bother writing telling me I'm nuts. You could just free yourself, fess up and admit you've thought the same things! I think I feel a short story coming on about "The lost slipper"...if you don't get it then just go ask your kids.
