Disappearing Act

Has anyone ever had the bizarre experience of corresponding with a person through e-mail, and when you think you both might be a good match and ask for a phone number or offer yours, the profile gets deleted and they disappear from the face of the earth?

Why would folks do that. Men and/or women? I have a friend who is devastated about a recent occurrence of this type. Trying to put some sense to it for him, as I recommended this site to him.

MY opinion - another "Broken Barbie". Too neurotic and needy to get over the past and still blaming all men for the wrong done by one man.

People are strange and getting worse. I think it falls under the line of todays Daily Bread Reading in which it does no good to not be able to stand behind your statements. Ah look it up. RBC ministries Our Daily Bread. Very interesting.

That is why I do not EMail or chat on line. I speak over the phone or not at all. One cannot hide "behind" a phone or computer. Inflections in voice sayy a lot!!
