A lot of people claim that looks are just a bonus...But is it really??

I think looks and the level of attractiveness is a big part of how many people become interested in someone.

So why does it bother me when men tell me that I look hot, gorgous, cute, blah blah blah...just by looking at my picture profile???
Well, if I put up a picture of me looking like I just woke up with no makeup, no one would look at my profile and tell how beautiful I look, but thats when I'm the most comfortable.

Just finding that someone that will tell how beautiful you are when you are at your worst is the most warm feeling. So why can't women be more comfortable and still look naturally beautiful? Why is it that women have to do twice at much just to be acceptable in the beauty catagory?

Imagine if men were the ones who are suppose to wear make-up, dress up, wear push-up bras, slim suits, and thongs and are supose to be super skinny and have the hour glass shape body? What then?

Just somethings I wonder about society....Its just me rambling...theres no answers here...

scarsec	9/24/2009 11:59:54 AM Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There are double standards in life and some of them are very bad. It seemed for a while it was almost the "standard" for women to maintain themselves even after giving birth to children, and the men drank beer, got fat and whatnot. Times are changing, but not fast enough in certain aspects. Your rambling isn't a new concept, but with more and more women thinking like this, things will change. Oh and if men were suppose to wear make up, dress up, thongs and the whole nine yards, nobody would be in a relationship. I'm 100% sure we'd fail miserably. I myself define the issue of looks as a natural instinct catergory. Its in human nature to want the best of anything. However, to me a beautiful mind and heart is of more value than looks.

mustangcali	9/25/2009 2:31:28 AM ya know ur almost right . i dated a woman that was vary beautiful. i thought i was luckey cuzz this girl was into me. as the weeks went by i found her to be more in to her self. she was a mean person with a cold heart. so if i had the the weeks all over again i would never date her . the woman im after dont have a face she could be fat or skinney doesnt matter as long as her heart is gold and full of love!! that what matters to me
wolvensatire	9/25/2009 12:10:32 PM I thought about this a little while, and I agree with the person above me, but mostly because I've never been able to approach a "beautiful" woman. Not because I'm shy, mainly because to me they are completely unapproachable. Personally I'd take a fat, ugly woman who treats me like a person instead of an object over a beautiful woman who uses me for whatever game she wants to play. But maybe one day I'll get lucky and find a beautiful woman inside and out
