My Bridge Jumping ones; can't find them. Last I saw them was when I was 17 or 18 and immortal...and yes, Ma: in fact I *would* jump off a bridge if everyone else was. Half-lit. On a dare.
Not being completely stupid, I made the dare-er jump first, cuz you just never know when a submerged tree is being washed downstream.
There's another camp out this weekend - COPE course; it's a team building skill, about 200 campers. Low ropes, high ropes, climbing wall and the Zip Line - 500' line careening thru the woods down a very steep ridge. Of course, odds are very good I'll jimmy my spine on a hard landing cuz it's much older than the rest of me, but sometimes you just have to take into account a 1-2 week recovery.
That Zip Line is what I'd need those Bridge Jumping Huevos for given how hard I laughed at The Root of All Evil when he lost his up on the 12' platform; took him about 20 minutes to find them and leap off - meanwhile I was infiltrating their campsite to ensure he won Best Dressed Tent
He made a point of telling me last summer (after 'coons spent the night running in and out of his tent) that he still has the dress. Yeesh, some folks can sure carry a grudge, that was over five years ago.
Every cloud has a silver lining and so it is with Man Child's ongoing Achilles tendon issues- he can't go, so I don't have to worry about the zip line. This year.
I was not so lucky about next month's Survival campout; I thought I could skate on that one since I can't physically hike carrying a pack - but that thought was squashed at last nite's meeting; he's going to arrange to have my gear hauled in by one of his staff on an ATV, Man Child too, if necessary. I get to hike to the site. In November. In the cold Kentucky Rain, cuz in November it rains almost every day. Oh, joy
Eventually the zip line will come up again, but that's okay, I have a plan. Evil Incarnate would take a running leap off the platform with a rebel yell and laugh all the way down, so that is what I'll do, too
