No, Not living with kids, smiles, Have you thought of maybe a mobile home like buying one and put it on yours kids land or Maybe they having housing there that go by your income? or buy a duplex and rent the other side for the payment and There is bond money floating around for 1st time home owners, Or housing for seniors. {government} Good Luck.

Seems this old cat is not alone when it comes to such places like the Palace where I reside.Circumstances and timing brought me here for purposes unknown at the time.Circumstances and timing will take me from here when all is in alignment with the universe..."What a long strangs trip it's been"...........cats

That's the exact problem that Tom and I are having with the added problem of finding a good school district just to make life more interesting. We too thought about a mobile home but it seems that many up here are for Seniors only..and my step son at age 11 does not quite qualify for that standard.

When I moved out west from Ohio I stayed with my son before I found my itsy, bitsy house. My son! The Oscar of the Odd Couple. I cleaned his house and picked up after him daily. I thought I had it in top shape, but he couldn't find anything! He was not very happy about it. So, I took inventory and drew him a map! Just some pointer of what's to come. Mom's can be a pain!

Even in this little town there are rent controlled apartments where the rent is on sliding scale according to your income. Perhaps that would be a place to start.

Have you thought about a roomie? IKA idea sounds good too! Good luck! Single life isnt't all a bed of roses! Being older either! Check out the over 55 apts. The ones here are very nice. I've thought about selling and moving in one! No grass to cut, repairs, trees to worry about.. sigh!

Check with HUD too. I forgot about that. They do well to serve the seniors.

I was in that same position a few years back and lived with my daughter and son in law..The arrangement was only suppose to be for a few months, ended up a year. If you have a good relationship with your children, would not be too bad. I finally moved out and then a few years later bought my current home. Good Luck.
