| Friends at Datehookup?

Not long after I posted my profile, I had three request for friends. Which was cool, we all like to have friends. However, these request came from strangers one of which has never replied or sent any form of communication since. Then an in true life friend was found here on DH, and I quickly asked to be her friend. So I am wondering; what is the real deal with this friend status? Blazerbabe is for sure a true friend, we were friends already. Two of the others I believe want to become friends, the third I am assuming just wants mega pictures of friends on her profile. Maybe I'm wrong only time will tell. My question is this. Should friendship status be granted cart blanc, or would it be rude to reframe until a friendship actually developes? I would like to know your opinions.
