| Are You Ready?

...The wandering wordsmith is running through the chambers of my mind.Hunting,gathering the scattered and tattered thoughts that are lurking there.Once again pondering a notion,an idea,a fleeting tendril of not yet coherent thought that needs to be assembled and expressed,translated through mind and heart.Transported to the bully pulpit that awaits the pouring forth from the soul that which seems today of great import.
...As I begin the journey that will take me to the pulpit today I again find that I have no clear vision,notes or concrete notion of how to deliver this message.One that has been within me for a while now.I've managed to pound it out in satisfactory fashion before only to have the blog eating monster,that self appointed editor of my thought,cause it to vanish from the great white page.Once again on this particular chill fall morn I shall put fingers to task pounding on the symbols of humanity in yet another attempt at sending out the tattered notions for my fellow travlers to see.
...The matter at hand that has been causing me such consternation is the flip side of the oft discussed giving of oneself to the stream of humanity.We practice the art of giving of thought and feeling,of caring and love.The selfless act that has no anticipation or expectation or return.Portioning out that which is most precious,pieces of our very selves.
...My thoughts for today lead me to ponder the recieving of the greatest gifts of spiecies human.I wonder if in our desire to give of ourselves do we lose sight of the need to be prepared to recieve those gifts of our fellows that are visited upon us.As I stand here behind my beloved pulpit on this day I pontificate on this matter before me in full knowledge that I am using this oppertunity to prepare myself and hopefuly others of my brethern to recieve that which will be given.
...For just as the selfless giving of our love is a vehicle to set free our souls the gracious recieving of these same gifts is of equal import.We find ourselves longing for the love and caring of another.Pursuing with vigor that seemingly elusive "other", our soulmate,significant other or however you care to say.I pose the question to you,my fellows,on this chilly prewinter's day....Are you ready,open and prepared to be loved by another?Will you,with grace and dignity,recieve that which you seek?Ponder these questions well my friends for I firmly believe that just as we should give selfless love to others we must also be open to the recieving of that selfless love in order to be whole,and to become one with another soul.......
