Why do people make fun of my accent?
by lildeb76 at 10/27/2009 4:55:22 PM

I get made fun of because of my accent and pronunciations. People goof on things I say, like-coffee, which sounds like-corffee, Boston-sounds like-Borston,New york-sounds like New yawk,chocolate- like chalklet,park-sounds like pahk, and car-sounds like-c-are, just to name some. It has been said that I sound like I'm from New york. Maybe it's a New England thing, or a Fall river thing. I don't know, but I always get picked on, but it's all in good fun, and even I laugh with others at times to how I say things. My father still has an accent after 30+ years of being away from Southern Florida, maybe I get it from him or I had lived in Arizona for sometime when I was a kid, and maybe I get it from there- who knows? Do you ever get picked on for your accent? Leave your responses.

"Why does a dog lick himself?" It's just an obvious, fairly harmless soft spot for them to poke fun. Some people enjoy needling others and some Creepy Seduction Methods actually recommend it. At any rate, it's something to talk about.
