The Woot Stuff
By Jim Jacquet

Somewhere along the line, they changed ‘woo-hoo!’ to ‘woot’.
And without my permission!

Why ‘woot’?
What woot?
WHAT is a woot????

And not, heaven forbid, ‘woot, woot!’ People you don’t even know will point at you and say, ‘He just went ‘woot, woot! You will be shunned.

Ya, its weird. But its been bugging me.

So, I am thinking of writing a country song called, Wooted In Your Love (or maybe Woov).

‘I think of you and I go, ‘Woot!’
‘But Darlin, you don’t give a toot…’

That’s as far as I want to take that…

Woot are we waiting for?

The End.

FYI - http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=woot Just for fun, I looked it up. I still prefer "whoo hoo", too. But I also use "Yee Haw" more than most people!

My daughter, who is fluent in teh speak of the young, corrected me the other day. It is, actually not woot. It is woo short for woo hoo. Cuz only old people and geeks, nerds etc say woo hoo. So teh cool people say woo or Woo!. She thinks somewhere along the line that exclamation point might have been mistaken for a t, henceforth...woot. So all ya old fogies out there.. drop the "t" unless ya wanna look like yer out of touch. Just another helpful hint from yer ole Uncle rasta. But hey, I like the country western song idea.
