| Daley Ranch Hike by andfaraway at 10/30/2009 3:30:20 PM

Max and I went to Daley Ranch this morning and did a 7 mile with the Off Leash Meetup Group. 11 dogs and Max had a blast!
Super group of people. We did the Cougar Crest Trail and looped back on a fire road. Good multi use trail with some single track sections. Horses, mountain bikes and hikers with dogs were enjoying the ranch today.
Daley Ranch is a 3,058-acre conservation area acquired in 1996 by the City of Escondido and is managed in perpetuity for the preservation of a biologically unique and diverse habitat area of regional importance. Visitors enjoy a variety of recreational and educational opportunities and experiences in a historically significant setting. The property contains a number of natural vegetation communities including lush oak woodlands, coastal sage scrub and chaparral, grasslands, and riparian areas.
