Photos.

Why I do not post photos? There are several reasons that NO ONE seems to have thought about when posting their photos on any website. Be it they're naive or a "newbie" or simply never knew these kinds of things really do happen!! Your photos can be copied and used by anyone that wants to do so. I invite you NOW to go to any website you like that has photos. Do this little experiment on THIS site. Right click on any profile photo you like. Then click "save" or "copy image". It's that easy! Without you actually posting a disclaimer/denial of any further use of your photo, even then, this most likely WILL happen to you and you'll never even know about. The website has to have security measures in place to prevent someone from copying photos. MOST DO NOT. YOU most likely will never visit those other (most likely, adult) sites anyway but, SOMEONE who knows you MIGHT!? There are things called "BOTS", "SPIDERS" and many other types of electronic/digital search programs. These programs scan websites for photos, then essentially copy and "steal" them. YOUR photos, along with a "fictitious ad", are then used/posted (as a lure) on other sites as advertising, especially adult dating sites that you may not want to be associated with. IF you had thoroughly read the "EULA" (END USED LICENSE AGREEMENT) you would see the site (or it's third party affiliates) actually have your permission to use your photo as they wish. TAKE THE TIME AND READ THE "TERMS" ON THIS SITE! Believe me, this is NOT paranoia speaking. Exchanging photos via email is fine. Even doing it through "IM" services is OK too. As long as you know (for sure) who you're communicating with! Posting on websites is another issue all together. I personally don't judge ANYONE by their photo. I'm more interested FIRST in whether or not we're compatible in other ways. I have been told many times my photos don't really do me justice. Don't take that as egotistical. It's a simple truth. People always look better in person. When I learned about this practice several years ago, I quit posting "face" photos! If someone shows interest in me and communicates through email, IM's, etc., I'll happily "exchange" photos - I have nothing to hide AT ALL! I'm quite confident in my appearance/looks. BUT BE CAUTIOUS!! The "BOTS" I mentioned will also use those same IM programs to "invite" you to chat on Yahoo, AOL, or Windows Live. YOU WON'T EVEN KNOW YOU'RE COMMUNICATING WITH A PROGRAM AND NOT AN ACTUAL PERSON!! Although, it should become obvious at some point. You'll find you're not getting a "straight" answer to your questions. Then they ask for photos. Some "invite" you to another site to sign up. It happens every day to thousands of people. Most people think this is all fun and games. Learn about the technology you use most every day! Many people think they're "good" with computers. When in fact, they are unaware/ignorant of the other side of the industry. Have fun and be aware - be safe. If you read this far, you probably think I really am paranoid? Your wrong - I'm one of those who found my photo on another (non adult) site! That's when I learned about the "EULA". Good luck in your search!
