| Natural Disaster (a poem) by starfish273 at 11/3/2009 4:06:50 AM

You came into my life
Like lightening across the sky.
Our connection as strong
As the thunder that binds.
Natural Disaster.
I value our friendship
Like the Earth values rain.
Your honesty as pure
As the wind that whistles by.
Natural Disaster.
These storms come and go,
Flooding inside.
The fire burns,
The ashes remain.
Natural Disaster.
Is our bond as powerful
As the mighty tornado?
Can it pick us up and carry us far,
Unharmed?
Natural Disaster.
Will love grow
And shake the ground below,
Open up
And swallow us whole?
Natural Disaster.
And when the calm comes,
The fires cease,
And the flood recedes,
What signs remain of this Natural Disaster?
New growth emerges,
Fresh air brews,
Water clears,
And clouds part by a ray of Hope.
Leaving behind only Natural Beauty.
