I wasn't sure it was going to last
Yesterday

All the mistakes that would ensue

When we said it was give and take

I could have sworn it mattered
At least, I know it does today

Everything worth having is worth the fight
Of stepping in
Didn't you begin
To trust the waters beneath would become serene
