| My Play-Dough Theory of the Universe by yankeeluvspeach at 12/30/2007 9:07:35 AM
I have another theory about existance that y'all may or may not find interesting. Here's what I think (and again this first part is not my original idea, just the play-do part.. You'll see what I mean. ). In the beginning, we all, that is our souls, made up the conscience of god. I picture it sort of like a big sort of planetoid of psychic energy, looking sort of like Solaris, in the movie with George Clooney, if you've seen it but also having a consistancy like play-dough. At some point, for reasons I cannot as of yet explain, I think this God Conscience decided that since it was alone in the universe, it would examine itself, as a way of better understanding itself perhaps, or maybe like how when a person is kept in solitary isolation for a while they start talking to themself, I don't know! But anyway, so the way this consciousness does this is to take small peices of itself, that is, small lumps of playdough if you can see this, and putting them through a sort of process. Think of those playdough presses they used to sell to kids that had like 3 or 4 cut outs like of stars or circles or whatever and you'd push down on the sort of garlic looking thing and it'd pop out in that shape.. Anyway, rather than like 3 or 4 shapes, this process or whatever has BILLIONS of shapes. So each new lump that's sent through comes out looking a little bit different, but they are all ultimately made up of that same basic substance, that playdough. This is what it is to be born. You have no memory of your existance prior to going into the press because the goal is to see how being fit into this specific mold is influenced by your playdoughness. Anyway.. so you carry out your existance as a star shaped worm or what-have you and after a certain amount of time has passed, you die. Now here's the interesting part (at least for me ) When you die, your lump is re-mashed back into the original glob and everything is churned up, mixed around until peices of your conscience touch peices of everyone else's conscience. Since presumably god is immortal, by our western standards, your individual lump now has all the time in the world to experience what all the other lumps experienced during their time alive. Thus, there is no Heaven or Hell per say. Heaven and Hell are the same thing. That is to say, if you lived life as a schmuck, kicking people when they were down, although you could have avoided it, you will experience that from their perspective, feel their pain/exclusion etc. Meanwhile, if you tried, on the flip side, to be compassionate, honest, loving etc. then likewise, you will also feel the warmth of those traits as others experienced them from your "lump," if you will. That's my theory at least. I've included a picture of a random girl with the playdough toy in my profile pics, just in case you've never seen one or are having trouble calling it to mind. Let me know what you guys think.
