| one night stands

When I was young and out running the streets, before, I had my children. A one night stand every now and then was'nt uncommon. Having sex for the sport, I guess.
The older a grew the fewer and farther between these one night indiscretions, became. I found that they was'nt satisfying or filling the sexual cravings I had. I was left pretty empty and wondering why in the hell ,I did.
I didn't feel guilty, thinking what would people say.
It was going through with the physical act and not feeling any of the intense emotions that comes with being with a regular partner.
Another thing that made it less desirable; is that I have found,through my own experience, the first sexual encounter is usually alittle awkword and clumsy.Not the same comfortableness it is, from, being with the same partner. I guess, that is where the saying "its the quality and not the quanity" comes from.
Men seem to be the ones that like many sexual partners, and one night stands. I'm not saying that women, don't. I'm just getting this, from my years of talking and listening to men talk.
Is it old fashion to want to have a good talking relationship before jumping into the sack with someone. In the fast pased society we live in now, it takes up to much time?
Or have we became so lazy, that we don't want to take the energy it does to build some kind of relationship?
Maybe thats why people that are unhappy together; stay together, cause it is too much of a hassle to take the time to court another.
