| Met an interesting elderly man today

I work in a cardiology office and we do stress testing on a treadmill. I had an 84 year old, thin man who was to have that test done. He did about as well as expected for someone his age. He was then lying on the table so that I could take his blood pressure. He was pretty alert and was telling me about never smoking, drinking, that he lifts weights, etc. Then he told me that his wife had died about a year and a half ago and his eyes welled up with tears. I patted him on the shoulder and told him that he was very lucky to have found someone like that, and that I was still looking. He popped his head up and had a big grin on his face and said "I'm here". We all got a good laugh out of that.
I guess it just made me hopeful that true love exists and can last until the day we die. Maybe we could all be so lucky someday.
