Bird - A poem
by sekhmetvotaress at 3/18/2008 9:36:03 PM

Bird:
wings
upheld in the mist
of cascading leaves.
Here and there, salting the earth
with the spice of their paprika reds
and cinnamon browns.

Another time ago
when her ebbing breath
was swallowed by an arrow
from a foam-mouthed hunter...

Waves of twilight descending
with the fall of unseen talons.
Tree touches her feathers
with the love
of leaves.
