| Fatherhood.

I miss my Daddy. For those of you who dont know...my father shot himself in the head. Dont want your sympathy. just an FYI kind of thing.
But for you men who dont know...how much your mean to your children?
Guess what Daddy.
YOU ARE WRONG.
you need them more than they need you??!!?
Nope. You are soooo mistaken on that one.
I lost my dad when I was three....him and mom got divorced. he came back when I was 14 years old. Never forget it. I locked myself in the bathroom and cried my heart out. and when he finally got me to open the door?
I beat the f*ck out of him...I have never gone after anyone in my life that hard. But...I got if from him...so he saved himself...LOL.
Now...I made him suffer. God I was such a little teenage b*tch. But he never left me...and we made friends...and I needed my daddy. Dont you EVER discount how much daddy means to your kids...dont be a dumb ass. Please.
when I was 26...his boss brought him home...and he had had a stroke...he was so scary...he couldnt walk right...talk right...endless rounds of Doctors and hospital visits...
and he was never the same again. and it ended with him driving down to florida...pulling off the side of the road,..and shooting Calvin..our dog..in the head...and then himself.
So dont you DARE ever discount how much you mean to your children...you have no idea honey. My daddy was smart...funny...and he would have so made jokes about someone who did something like that...tongue in cheek with sympathy jokes...but funny nonetheless.
Now...Im a nurse...and I understand why...and how...but it doesnt take away how much I wish he was here today. Dont you ever think you need your children more than they need you. Take you for granted? Maybe. But live without you? f*ck no.
Probably...because you are the man you are....they never had to worry about that...
but know this.
Being a father...a good father...is probably one of the best things you can ever do in this life.
I cant even tell you how much I respect that. Its probably one of the hardest jobs in the world...and you get no bonuses..no vacation time...no kudos.
But I will give you a one right now.
I miss my daddy every single day. Dont you think that you need them more than they need you. Not many children are lucky enough to have a dad that loves them enough to give them the security to be themselves...
So shaddup....
and be happy...
if your kids are happy...
for the most part...none of us is perfect...
but if they are happy?
You....Did a DAMN GOOD JOB.
