Why do we have to stand on the sidelines?
by lis2007 at 4/15/2008 6:15:52 PM

I have no idea if anyone will read this, or if they do, what they will think about it, but I need to vent. Why is it that women are expected to stand on the sidelines and wait for their knight and shining armour to find them? In this day and age why can't we be the one riding up on a white horse and sweeping the prince off his feet. I am sick of having men leave me messages on these websites and then being scared off when I try to make a move by asking to go for a coffee or God forbid giving them my e-mail address or cell number and never hearing from them again. It's not like they weren't forwarned, it states in my profile that I am open, upfront and sometimes thought of as aggressive. I am too old to sit around and wait for men to ask me out after they have sat around seeing if there is a better offer out there. I find it offensive that men can come on here and ask me extremely personal and sometimes rude questions about my anatomy but I can't ask one out on a date. Why are some men afraid of women knowing what they want? All I am looking for is a guy who can handle the fact that I can make the first move and realize that that doesn't mean that I have to be the dominant one in the realationship. Life is too short to wait around for something to happen, we need to make it happen. After all, isn't that why most of us on on here in the first place?????
