| WHAT DOES IT MATTER YOU'RE MARRIED? by mdsongwriter at 4/23/2008 4:53:34 PM
(c) 1980 by MDSONGWRITER
It was not honest, nor was it kind
to let me think that you were free.
I, a girl of independent mind
should have had a choice given me
but this you denied. With finger bare
and voice to match, you let me think
whatever. "No promises made--fair."
Fair! You dare say without a blink!
It was not fair for you to chase your
passions here, to join the parade
of many banners before my door--
Ego's attempt to make the grade.
There is no excuse. It was not kind
to play a game of cat and mouse.
I hang not loose for men to find
their pleasures, nor am I here to douse
your sorrows in either. You see sir
I have my needs, the need to trust,
to have the closeness you share with her,
to have a man, true through life to dust.
