It's 4 a.m. Wed. morning. Neither Zoe or I have been to sleep yet as we wait in the driveway for our ride to the airport to arrive.
He shows up 10 min. late but the ride goes smoothly, check in is a breeze, and even security isn't too bad. Zoe's night light on her service dog tag set the detector off, but other than that - piece of cake.
Take off is at 0600; or was supposed to be until the pilot on the arriving flight hit the hangar and dented the plane.
Now we have to be re-routed to other airlines - eventually. So we get sent to Delta to go through Atlanta (instead of Denver). This flight gets delayed -- we have an emergency on board. Thank goodness for all of the nurses on board. Sure kept the airline staff from freaking. So emergency vehicles await for our landing. This causes another re-route for missing the connection to Las Vegas (can't I just stay on this one since it's going to Phoenix & worry about the rest of the trip from there? Please? I'm like really tired & starting to get cranky and so is the dog.)
I think we got to our destination some 7-8 or so hours later than planned. I'm not really sure. By then, I'd been up more than 32 hours and couldn't believe LAS didn't have stairs to get to another level, only elevators or escalators.
However, the scenery out here is nothing short of spectacular.
