"What The Hell?!"
by suthern_j at 5/7/2008 6:32:54 PM

To read this piece is one thing but to hear it read in the rhythm i wrote it in is a completely different experience.

That time comes
you get those
flittery, fluttery, butterflies
that make you feel
like
you're back again at
that first kiss, the second
you get to see that twinkle
little star
in her eye when you say
how great
she is and makes
you wanna take
that jump over that wall
you're behind
that your heart has built
stronger than a house
of straw, sticks, or bricks
but shes that sledge hammer
knockin that big hole in your wall
climbing into the hall
to your heart
and before you can see her start
to put it in her pocket
and like a rocket
shes off with you in tail
saying what the hell, when the hell
how the hell could this
happen when i didnt wanna let it go
she gave me no choice and
took my voice
from my mouth my heart
i cant figure what part
of my day isnt
surrounded around that smile
that all the while
is makin me sigh and lie in wait
for the time if
a minute its worth
it to see that face
that makes you grin and glow
you know
shes got those
traits, that bright
light that makes you think
you're in sync with
her and her mind
finding things she loves
to do, watch, hear
and you ask yourself
who gave her cards, lines
to how you wanted that talk
to go to the end of the night
and might keep you up
in bed
with your head floating
on cloud nine
fine tuned thoughts of her
mind, body, soulful
sweet touch with skin softer
than the down in your pillow
holding your head from sinking
down down down
into the warmth of a love sick
mind full of images of her
laugh and smile
just take a while
make it last past where those
others lost their clothes of their
back to the drawing board to
find the lost pieces of shattered
emotions rest on the shoulders
of the one who hit the gas
going past where a good paced
love should go
you know whats safe don't break
the rules that keep your love something
whole and true but be sure to
ask what the hell,
when the hell,
how the hell could this of happened
it hit me like a falling star
in her eye going, going,
gone with the windy love of that
one who makes you float
with the butterflies she put
in your soul but thank her for
helping you see that fate has
a heart like the one she stole no
like the one you gave her.
