Mother's Day Thoughts.
by sunny_08 at 5/11/2008 2:53:04 PM

I thought long and hard about what I wanted to say before I began writing this. After possibly wasting all those brain cells I'm still not sure what word or words will appear on this page next.

It's Mothers' Day and being a mother has, thus far been the highlight of my life. Probably always will be because I can't really think of anything that can top knowing you are loved by the ones, by the grace of God, you gave life to.

I have been blessed with two wonderful, happily married sons, three brilliant grandchildren and, believe it or not two beautiful great-grandchildren. I am still trying to figure how that happened by the time I was 59 y/o...But, the feeling sure is a good one. Knowing that I have been blessed to see my seed bringing forth seed of their own to love and nourish is a great reward.

Wow, when I started typing this my fingers seemed to take on a life of their own and the thought about my life and loved ones automatically came spilling forth. Reminds me of the Bible passage about "Rivers of living waters springing forth". Life is an eternal river that doesn't stop flowing with our passing but continues flowing through our offspring and on through eternity which has no end. That knowledge gives me much comfort on this special day.

May God bless you and all you touch and come in contact with in this life. I'll finish with the first Bible verse I learned as a child:

"Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in Heaven...Matthew 5:16
I was 11 y/o when I learned that passage and have tried to live my life by it.

Love to all mankind,
